Do you need the services of a Transport Manager to assist or to be your nominated Transport Manager?

With many years of experience in the passenger transport sector, we can assist or be your nominated manager. We have full national and international CPC, member of 'The Transport Of Administration', and have worked in Transport management as Transport Managers and Operations Manager.

A passenger transport manager is responsible for managing the planning, delivery and organisation of services that affect passengers using public transport. The transport sectors involved include road, rail, air and sea services.

Face to face contact with the drivers and employess, ensuring Drivers hours rules are complied with and the correct use tachograph equipment and the checking thereof.

The work also involves maintaining correct capacity levels, ticketing, dealing with customer complaints and making sure that services are safe and secure, as well as responding to unpredictable crises.

Transport managers work closely with all employees to ensure that.

  • Ensuring that vehicles are roadworthy and meet legal requirements
  • Supervising drivers and maintenance staff
  • Managing daily activities
  • Allocating vehicles to drivers
  • Making sure that drivers know where they are going and what time they have to be at their destination
  • Making arrangements in case of breakdowns
  • Examining business decisions (pricing policy, level of service provision, timetable changes) to assess their impact on passengers
  • Organising work shift rotas to ensure cover at all times
  • Working with managers
  • Taking decisions in difficult situations, e.g. in response to bad weather conditions, security alerts
  • Answering letters of complaint or concern from passengers
  • Meeting passengers and customers face to face, to deal with problems or gather views
  • Marketing passenger services to encourage greater passenger use of particular routes and methods of transport
  • Exploring new initiatives to provide a better service
  • Conducting passenger surveys on all aspects of travel experience, including cleanliness, ticket costs, timetables, punctuality, security, etc.
  • Liaising with passenger watchdogs and other professional bodies
  • Dealing with media enquiries
  • Ensuring drivers hours compliance
  • Driver discipline

To be a Transport Manager and to hold an operators licence you need to have certain qualifications. If you do not hold one of these we can be your nominated Transport Manager as we are fully qualified to be so.
